Tentang Jerinx, SID & Devildice

Mungkin diluar sana ada yang resah dan bertanya "Kenapa ya drummer SID akhir-akhir sibuk dengan Devildice, trus nanti SID nya gimana?" Mereka melihat Devildice adalah ancaman untuk eksistensi SID. Okelah, saya mengerti dan hargai kekhawatiran mereka. Itu salah satu indikator kecintaan mereka terhadap SID dan saya berterima kasih atas reaksi tersebut. But wisely speaking, ritme hidup ini tidak selalu predictable dan kadang beberapa opsi alternatif tidak menghasilkan sesuatu seperti yang dikhawatirkan.

Bagi yang belum mengenal Devildice, saya dan sahabat saya Kuzz membentuk band ini tahun 1997, dua tahun setelah SID terbentuk. Sadar akan misi dan integritas, dari awal saya berkomitmen terhadap diri sendiri bahwa SID adalah prioritas, apapun yang terjadi. Kerja keras, darah dan airmata saya [bersama Bobby dan Eka] semua ditumpahkan untuk SID.
Dan kerja keras itulah yang membuat SID bisa berada diposisi seperti ini.

Kerja keras itu juga membuat Devildice seperti terlupakan. Mungkin tidak banyak yang tahu saya adalah penulis lagu, dan sifat seni yang tanpa batas membuat saya merasa bersalah jika saya harus menyiakan lagu-lagu yang saya tulis untuk Devildice. Apalagi di situasi seperti ini dimana eksistensi dan kekuatan mesin kerja SID bisa dikatakan berada di posisi stabil.

Saya percaya semua manusia memiliki dua sisi. Setan dan malaikat. Jika di SID saya menyalurkan energi positif dan mencoba menorehkan harapan untuk dunia yang lebih baik. Di Devildice saya menghamburkan energi kemarahan saya yang bersifat lebih personal.

Devildice adalah outlet yang memberi 'setan' dalam diri saya ruang untuk berteriak. Argumen filosofisnya, energi Yin dan Yang harus seimbang. Karena ketika keseimbangan hilang, kepekaan yang menjadi kekuatan utama seorang seniman akan terancam.
